As always with higher temperatures comes more moisture, had rain showers here in Cambridge all morning.

Been dry all week when it was cold enough for snow.

I saw @TomSE12 had a flurry earlier I have most rotten luck it went to my east. Very recently had a shower but icy rain couldn’t make it up, always getting precip when conditions are hostile..

Agree, how fitting we finally get Precip and it’s wet sleet at best.

Fingers crossed those 10 day charts hold up (a miracle) but no harm in wishing.

Temps so not conductive of snow now.. But could quite icy later in any places that get below zero long enough and have had showers today..

Still convinced some will be quite surprised next week with how things pan out.. Looks like quite a few opportunities to see snow at least falling.. Perhaps some coverings in places as well

Really is just the wrong side of marginal here.. Talking 1-2 degrees..

There is quite a lot of showers coming down from the wash.. If we can nudge temps down just a notch after dark then we might see a few more flurries..

Even last night with the low cloud and muck here we got below freezing

What’s this talk of “get the cold in first”

Last night was -6c here and -2c until 10am with light snow flurries

It’s now pouring with rain in a northerly flow.

Get the cold in first means diddly squat!

I'm off out for a walk to enjoy the cold drizzle. Hoping if I walk up the hill there will be a sleety mix to enjoy😂

Cloudy, dry and 2 degrees here in East Sussex.

The last couple of days have felt much more like it in terms of a cold spell. Just wasn’t feeling it last weekend. Let’s hope some of those stellar 10 day charts now start counting down consistently. A proper snowy January spell will be great, I’m sure someone will correct me but I can’t really remember an early/mid Jan one since 2013.

    • Cool Showerfest continues for the next week. Hints of a change beyond that?

With the jet stream close to the south and low pressure nearby over the next 7 days, expect showers or longer spells of rain over many areas, staying cool too, with temperatures below average. But hints of something drier and more settled arriving next weekend. View the full blog here
