I think it'll be another miss for the south-west, we've had no thunder this year.

Where about are you ? The south west definately has had storms this year

Mid-Level Convection North of LGW (Gatwick) (South Downs being the initiation).

Look at the growth in 10 minutes.

I can already see towers building in the distance to both the SE and SSW of my location.

Currently 32.9°C, nearly 4°C hotter than the same time yesterday when we eventually chalked up a high of 33.0°C

I thought it was the COS - Cone of Silence?

You're right enough, Vestan: the Cone of Silence is @Paul Sherman's creation: a land that thunderstorms forgot!

The Triangle of Doom is one of mine, however, going way back to 2013, when incoming heavy snow would vanish, just east of Bury St Edmunds (sp?) and then reappear somewhere out in the North Sea. Now though, thunderstorms do that too!

Hearing rumbles from that cluster in Cardigan Bay.

The predicted Arome Chart isn't 100% accurate at 2pm it shows storms in NW Wales but there is nothing

I can hear rumbles to the south now! (NW Wales)

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
