Small band of PPN just over Leicester now. Any update on this, Leicester folk?

I’m 8 miles north of Leicester, had a flurry an hour ago. Hoping for more!

Yeah.. Need a little hight.  Getting slightly better here. Marginal being the word at the moment. Hopefully we get some of those decent charts coming that bring in some decent cold. They have been promising winter wonderland for a while now always at day 10.

I'm higher up than him and its doing the same here. Dewpoint below zero, even the lighter stuff is now snow so not the uppers that are the problem, not soil temps either as was frozen solid this morning before the sleety rain came along (and that wouldn't explain the melting off bins and cars anyway). Yet at best its settling temporarily in the heavier bursts then melting straight away.

We have a dandruff covering here, very light powder for the last 10 mins so if we do happen to catch some heavy stuff should do well out of it

so 2nd January and already had more days of snow than in winter 19/20. just need a real snow event now so this whole thread goes nuts. anyone know if one is due? given up in the model thread the guys from the SE turn it into a regional. and if I had a £1 for every beast from the east or propper 850s I would be retiring about now

Don't worry about it, i'm east of you under the 'heavier' bit. i've just been to the shop 200 yrds up the street and counted 14 snow flakes on the way there and back.....does that count as a blizzard nowadays???  ❄️

Large flakes sticking here in Shrewsbury

Welcome to the forum!

Whereabouts in Shrewsbury is this? I'm in Bomere Heath and it settled for a while about 5pm but mostly gone now despite more bits of snow falling and cold enough temps. Very strange weather round here last few days even by Shrewsbury standards!

There’s a big blob going right over my head according to the radar in about 15 mins or so, I’ll keep on the lookout at my local lamppost

Look around Louth on the radar. It’s that area that’s heading to Birmingham area imo
