Well I got the power washing done and, apart from about 15 minutes, it stopped fine so not to fussed what the rest of the day throws at us providing it’s not flooding.

Thumping it down here - as it has been most of the day.  As so often, straight from Dublin to our back door.

Heavy rain and strong wind continuing in the black dark.   Sounds like the whole of the Atlantic is being thrown at us.

October rain total was 262.3 mm. This was the third wettest October in last 50yrs.  Beaten by 1980 with 374.0 mm and 2000 with 393.4 mm.

October average is 158.0mm.

Hopefully November will be the driest in the last 50 years but I wouldn’t bet my last fiver on it.

These warnings skirting around the Wirral have been an absolute nonsense, has been and still is thumping it down like everywhere else in the region.

On the edge of the red colours but very windy indeed. Rain stopped for a short while.

Flood warnings starting appear now for the more prone areas and plenty more rain and wind to come.

Does anyone know if today's vile weather in the NW was caused  by a "Named Storm"?    Has Aidan gone ?      Zeta now  in N Scotland says telly weather man.  But what about us?

Presume Zeta is an ex hurricane and what we are getting is the edge of that with the main storm well up in the North Atlantic

A miserable day, heavy rain this afternoon, very heavy be evening, localised flooding everywhere. Thankfully the forecasted heavy rains of Friday and Saturday didn't come to fruition, meaning we've been spared more serious conditions. One more wet day tomorrow then something drier..
