Not expecting anything tonight so I’m not disappointed when I get sod all.

Always best to have no expectations and then your surprised. Could be quite a few surprises as we close 2020 for some. At least the fells are nicely coated.

Surprisingly there is not to much of a thaw yes there is some drip drip going on.

BBC weather showing another band of snow pushing in from the south on Wednesday graphics looked amazing however did state uncertainty as the front may go to the far south

Still remnants from yesterday evening, it’s melting slowly but am expecting more tonight/early hours tomorrow- big concern will be ice if it freezes.

Good to see some of you guys further west getting some snow. Kasim got it spot on with Warrington getting a few inches, not often the case for that area. Diddly squat here but as I mentioned last night the models looked poor for this area so wasn't expecting any anyway. Tonight on the other hand holds more promise.

They’ve used a pretty broad brush though, even larger than the governments COVID Tier brush but at least the threat of snow is there.

We usually get something from an easterly or ENE although after last nights local mega fail I’m not hopeful but in the end it’s just down to nowcasting.

Of course the cumbrian coast is left out the warning, happens all the time and tbh always correct so zero chance here.

Looks like higher potential for Eastern parts of the region tonight so you're probably in with a decent shout later. Not expecting much, if anything here tonight this far West.

Met office warning, looks like the snow will be confined to higher ground

Yeah, just have a feeling that it may reach the Pennines further south than here and be more of a Peak District and North Midlands event.

Love to be proved wrong though and see falling snow when I open the curtains in the morning.

It isn't thawing much despite the sun being out. Dripping off the trees and such. I wonder if it can survive until the night.

Now at midday the sun is out and feels gently warm.  Nice.

I think the distant fuzz is the streamer of showers through Ireland and the Irish Sea.

Some great snow photos here, for some they would of seen more snowfall if it was not so marginal but this was always the best chance I feel.

As for tonight then again its radar watching, looks hit and miss and will it be cold enough for it to fall as snow. Either way the southern  parts of the region looks well favoured again, some may get a top up of their snow cover.

Much colder than yesterday, when we were hitting 5 degrees at 1pm, current temp 2.6 degrees, not expecting much of a climb further. Air temperatures at least will be far more conducive for snowfall without the need for it to happen in the depths of the night or aided by evaporative cooling.

Not much sign of any snow left now except a little bit on the bins. Only 1.9°C though. It’s a shame it had such trouble sticking as it was very heavy with big flakes for quite awhile. Wondering what to do about tonight don’t want to do another all nighter.
