I’m currently in Denton until New Year atm. It’s getting closer, will it reach here? Only about 20 miles away

It's painfull watching, I need sleep but would like to see if we will get anything. It seems to be inching closer.

Just started sleeting/snowing here South Manchester.

Doesn't look like anything will stick at the moment.

Loving this and still belting down could be 5cm if this carries on.

Why is it sticking everywhere but here

Because you're a jinx like me!

Normally they get snow in Irlam and Stretford and all around me but here I get rain.

At least I'm seeing snow falling and the cars and grass are turning white, I'm easily pleased.

Hmm it looks like it's pivoting. I am very much an amateur at all this but watching the radar animation it looks to me like the centre of the low is further east than forecast. The band of snow in the south of our region is in the colder air to the north east of it but there must be a mild sector still to the south of it?

I’ve got about a 1-2cm covering down the road from you Crewe in Sandbach. Still coming down. Crewe town is rubbish for snow sticking in marginal situations though hope you at least get a dusting.

No idea why it's so bad here, similar altitude

Recently started to stick properly now, Still coming down. I heard heavy snow in Crosby also and heard on FB hazardous roads in Huyton.

Crewe and Nantwich have a microclimate I think they often seem to get less snow than everywhere surrounding in these sort of marginal situations.

Yep it seems to be the case.

It melts faster than it accumulates even when less marginal
