Seems @Paul Sherman has sent his cone of silence to this area.

If you want to see the cone of silence at full work today just run the radar loop back at that Canterbury Storm around 1845 to 1930 and then laugh

Currently sat near to Wolverhampton at M6 services. I caught a storm that seemed to come out of nowhere as I was in Coventry about 2 hours ago (ish). Had some gusty winds and torrential rain with flashes of lightning and thunder as it passed close by. Moving fast though.

Now monitoring the cells just near Banbury and looking where to intercept them

Just been to water the flowers on my Dad’s grave, and I saw this impressive structure over towards Chester. :oldgood:

Well the energy seems to have disappeared from here for now, nothing but thin dying clouds. And blue sky of course. Wonder if anything happens later, doesn't look like it. For now at least.

Just missed the West Yorkshire storms here today but we had quite enough rain yesterday (36mm including what fell Thursday evening). Nice towers still visible in the direction of the peak district, presumably the stuff west of Nottingham. 20200613_204959.thumb.jpg.d44a8265306e5dd7136924acf703f96e.jpg

That storm 12 km away is really frequent. About 10/minute

Agreed - not expecting anything here tomorrow (might get some studies in!!). Hopefully will get something again in the week

Fantastic walk home! Though my video of the storm itself is underwhelming, as my work isn't in a good vantage point, I snapped some stonking pics as I wandered through Brum.

Back end of the first thunderstorm;

Had a huge crack of thunder here at about 6:30/7pm, and a 5 minute shower. Really nice to see so much activity around recently, I
 have had more thunder days so far this year than 2019 and 2018 combined.

Meteorology always baffles me mate. Literally 8 miles of water can kill off one cell, but I’ve seen on a few occasions another leave from the Belgian/Dutch coast and make it all the way to the NE of England .

Be interesting to see if these cells can make it here. I’ll be amazed if they do!
