Anybody in the Sandbach, Holmes Chapel or Congleton area who was SE of that storm please send the structure picture into here please would be very interested to take a look. Certainly behaved like a Supercell would on radar with splitting and moving against the ambient flow

A quick recap of my day, without getting too waffly. It has been an absolute classic and my favourite/most successful chase so far. - started fairly benign as I failed to get a good handle on the

100% Bonafide Supercell no doubting that whatsoever 35knts of flow, Moved right of the deviant steering flow Killed off anything that came near it Like most Supercells massive uptick in

Thanks

Sorry for the delay, my family member finally got back to me. Nothing too out of the ordinary but they claim there were torrential downpours and some quite persistent thunder and lightening activity. Very jealous, as it just missed me.

And still in Congleton we get nothing, the wait goes on. How can we miss a storm 3 days in a row by a few miles, what's more annoying is that storm went past to the west, now has split to the east just north of my town.

Any Pics from the SE of the Structure ?

The cell leaving Macclesfield and approaching Manchester looks dodgy to me at the moment also, and it’s kicking out some frequent lightning too.

Sorry - am taking about the same cell as @Paul Sherman - didn’t realise where Congleton is ?

Rainfall totals look to have increased again over there so you could be in for a second chance.

I don't think I've seen rainfall rates that high before, it's basically off the scale! Gorgeous overshooting top too.

That thing looks bigger than Anglesey!  o_O

Skip Talbot on YouTube would be talking about a possible horseshoe there, especially that bottom pic. Where a downdraft (not sure if RFD is appropriate) undercuts an updraft forcing it to bulge into the shape of a horseshoe. Great pics!
