What part are you in??

Hampshire. Andover to be precise which was described as the ‘armpit of the UK’ - so it has that going for it at least.

I think I need to sign out of this thread for a while as it does my mental health no good.

No snow in winter, no storms in summer - might actually be a contender for most boring climate on earth in my little part of England.

Sad times for us! Do you have a car? I'm willing to chase stuff within say 50 miles if anything pops up; problem is I'm working from home till 5 each day!

Lots of big cumulus already this morning, a hell of a lot more than the last few days. Enough to produce a shower! Should be some big storms around further NW from here as the day goes on.

Nice to see I am in the MDT zone from Dan today. However, not sure about staying put today after what happened yesterday. Eventually I did get to see a storm near to Coalville/Ibstock but it was dying shortly after I caught it. If today is going to be like yesterday then I fancy somewhere like Cheshire may be a good bet. Having said that, by evening time most models have heavy precipitation directy over my house.

Thunderstorms are a certainty today, but where they occur is the conundrum I face.

I agree. Looking at CAPE and shear values as well, I would actually place the moderate zone further South, around the the Midlands (e.g. Northamptonshire) and Oxfordshire areas. I reckon these areas could see some good activity later on the afternoon/early evening.

Bit tricky to work out what's going on

Lol indeed, I think latest is actually just for tomorrow..based on the matrix I wonder if they’d consider a small scale amber tomorrow morning when confidence improves

I take it these are the elevated showers Convective Weather referred to that might electrify this morning?

"elevated convection (showers and perhaps a weak thunderstorm) may be ongoing over the NW Midlands / N Wales on Tuesday morning"

Might be a little bit of hail in one of those showers, can't tell from the resolution really...

Hmmm looking at the Met office's warning, I would not be surprised to see a Amber warning pop up somewhere later today.

6z run for Monday ended up being very accurate, wondering if that'll be the case today. It'll be interesting to see what changes are made when it's released.

That's essentially a mirror image of the places that also got storms yesterday.

What's the chance of anything here? I'm in the meto warning bun dan puts me in a low risk. Do you think anything will happen here? If so, when?

Can't wait for the yellow 'Rain' warning on Thursday. This spell has been massively under-whelming down here. Hope everyone else enjoys the action!
