What’s troubling is these new cases are now popping up all over the place . How many people could they have infected ?

Here in France , more new cases reported today , Oise and Alsace departments.

I can see large public gatherings getting axed in the UK soon given the rate it's spreading now.

I'm still amazed how easy it is for folk returning from Italy to just walk through arrivals with hardly any testing taking place!

Some more info on the latest cases

Quote

Three patients caught the virus in the UK - they are known to be contacts of someone who already had it, and were found through contact-tracing.

One of the patients, from Essex, has not been abroad and it is not clear where they contracted COVID-19. Six of the patients had recently travelled to Italy, and two had been to Iran.

Yes! It says on the BFMTV website that he was with a whole load of departmental councillors who went to the now cancelled Paris agricultural show and were swanning around having meals together etc..

Thanks. Don’t really do Twitter much as it tends to contain a lot of disinformation.

Isn't St Martin the place from which Dreyfuss and Papillon were sent to Devil's Island?

Ithink it might have been St Laurent but several islands were used for imprisonment. Same place though...

I think something I am a little concerned about is how we are starting to see an increasing number of cases across the world which have no clear link to the hotspots. Would suggest we are seeing people with it moving around with it and probably not even knowing it.

Rumours of course, but Iran looks in quite a bad way as well...

The Louvre is closed because staff are exercising/about to exercise/or thinking about exercising their "droit de retrait" - basically and quite justifiably, some feel unsafe working a such an exposed environment and are consulting with the CGT union among others as to whether they should refuse to work.

Another interesting and emerging economic impact.

Well that could set a precedent, anyone who works in an environment with lots of people traffic also withdrawing their labour.
