Some more pics from this morning in the Lomond Hills. Just the most sublime colours at sunrise. We had 12cm this morning, sunny all day except for a slight freshening up in the afternoon, now -0.7C an

Standing an impressive 5ft 5in tall - the kids have done well with limited resources ?

The snow still hasn't come to anything beyond a slushy mess at the house so we went to the snow. At the small car park at the top of Glen Ogle it was proper snow with a few inches on the ground. By th

Better day today with sunny periods so got to cultivate neeps .Don"t know about everyone else but plant  growth has been very fast this year.Neeps are almost meeting across the drills almost three weeks ahead of normal.        Probably the last big pick of strawberries two weeks ahad of normal Cleared them before all forecast rain which would rot them025.thumb.JPG.506fd445548458f3eeaa6fd3cb220e27.JPGand even spring barley is starting to change colour so again two weeks ahead of normal. Overcast with showers, these increasing in frequency and intensity as the day progressed.

Not particularly warm either with a max of 14c.

The overnight low got down to 3.1c which is pretty cool for the time of year.

Interesting how the showers have been forming this evening, only appearing on the lee side of the Cairngorms before heading ENE.

Wind warning out for Sunday, not sure but don’t think wind warnings / gales are common for July ? 7583B837-235C-4627-891D-E16A06133A6D.thumb.gif.1e98373d38b431845aafbea6b2057a90.gif9BE5E64B-2AA1-48BE-B69A-48B777364CAC.thumb.jpeg.b567d6cf564ebbc117c252e5a2b43412.jpeg

Yeah just what I was thinking. June was poor and July has started off appallingly. Hopefully things pick up later next week. ?

Got to love the contrasts in Scottish weather.

Drenching rain under leaden skies at 5pm.

Clear blue skies and unbroken sunshine by 8pm.

Lovely sunset now and it's going to be another cool night, down to 7c already.

Day spent in Inverness, a bit wet there brightening up at 5pm as we were leaving.

Dry weather heading back through Moray but looks like the rain was chasing us as its been torrential outside for the last hour or so.

Surprised to see a number of tourists in cars on the A96 (French, Italian registration plates), though I suspect with the weather the last few days I bet they were wishing they were somewhere else.

Very wet here this evening too.     All thoughts of making any more hay on hold.  Seems the weather always changes at the begining of July these days from one extreme to the other. Maybe its just old age but we seem to have lost the three fine days and a thunderstorm summers which were more usual in the sixties and seventies.Maybe its just  selective memory.Very fortunate to have had good weather through most of the lock down and we are well up to date on the farm so can afford a week of wet weather.

Gorgeous dry sunny day (so far) with a very strong breeze, great for cutting the grass bug free:

Similar here, broken cloud and sunshine but a blustery wind. Not a half bad day out of the strongest wind, with temps in the mid teens.
