A rather rare wet start to the day (can't remember last time I said that) should dry up a bit when this next pulse clears through

This chill weather and near constant grey is starting to grate now. Feels baltic for this late in Spring.

At least it isn't raining but even that looks like changing soon.

Yeah , been a cold and grey week. Heating was on a few nights.

Dull and damp feeling here but it had stopped raining by 10am or thereabouts. No wind and temp probably around 10-12C.

Not really dried up. Always had drizzle or something or other but a very rare (compared to say last month and a half) a very rare day without sun. Could be a few of them before the 1 day wonder on Wednesday...............

Damp morning then a lovely afternoon and evening, though a bit cloudy.

Warm with a max of 17.1c in the early afternoon, and when the sun was out feeling proper summer like .

Local meadow now looking very colourful, the recent rain giving everything the extra oomph they were needing.

A bit of rain over the last few days and quite breezy, keeping my eye on Thursday for thundery potential, looks like main action could be down in the SE but some runs pushing a decent amount of CAPE up here too.

Last 30 hours of ppn is the first to "soak in" for nearly two months. The difference in the greenness of the garden in such a small amount of time is astonishing. You can hear the bloody weeds and grass growing. Up to 14.3°C. Managed to stay dry on dog walk - saw the local sika deer for fifth consecutive day.

A few showers this morning but a fine breezy afternoon.Temperature up to 17c.With the recent nights being warmer started sowing the swedes today.

50 years separates these two Massey Ferguson tractors my 50 year old sowing the neeps and a new one setting up the drills.004.thumb.JPG.4a36672ba90f3db526dc0aad18095b34.JPG

We've still got this inbetweeny weather where it's not bad when you're outside but it doesn't inspire you to go out when you're sat inside.

That pretty well sums it up for here too. An OK day if you had jobs to do outside but not a day that would make you want to sit out just for the enjoyment of it.

Grass here was pretty wet this morning so likely due to at least some overnight rain. A bit brighter in the afternoon than the morning but not really sunny as such, so temps probably mid teens for the most part. Cool enough during the evening dog walk to feel the benefit of a light jacket, especially in the breeze.

Heavy rain in the early hours of the morning but no sign of it by mid-morning.

Thereafter another very workable day, though mainly cloudy.  Warm again with a max of 17.5c with light winds.

Lovely walk this evening finished off by a spectacular sunset - May is a great month for walks as the midges are not out (usually) but you get the benefit of lighter evenings and warmer temperatures.

Sign of spring progressing, the first fledglings spotted....

For a few weeks now we've had a pair of Oyster Catchers visiting our garden, primarily in the morning. The last week or so there's usually just been the one, we'd assume the male, who generally hangs out on the garage roof outside out bedroom window. He's even been known to perch on the window ledge, apparently looking in at us.

The last couple of mornings he's been performing an unusual display for us. He repeatedly flies across in front of the bedroom windows, from the roof on the left to a wall on the right and back again.

Even the puppy, who is allowed on the bed in the morning, lies and watches the morning entertainment.

LOL shuggee, I said the same thing this morning - you can practically hear the weeds growing

We have swallows all day flying back and fwd all day in front of the house, and at 7pm the wee bats take over the patrol. Keeping the cat amused.

Heavy rain here too overnight but ground dried up quickly. Feeling warm when the sun came through. Max of 18.8C. A mild night to come I think with temps still 15.5C at the moment.

Cracking day.

Max of 20.5c and still warm outside just now at 14c.  Dry all day with light westerly winds; sunshine very hazy but still packing a punch.

More of the same tomorrow and Met making the first mention of the season of "thundery downpours" to end the week.

All the windows open in the house otherwise it would be a uncomfortable nights sleep ahead.

Morning all,

A mild (20c at Leuchars) day yesterday but didn’t feel warm because of the strong winds here on the coast. We’ll see what today brings, a bit grey here first thing but looks to be brightening!

Our max yesterday was 18.8C  equalling the year high. Today already 21.6C so smashing the year to date high. Mostly sunny skies so maybe a degree or two more to come.

Peaked at 24.1c but doesn’t feel too warm with a nice wee breeze and low humidity.

(Photo - features an improved gravel area. Not complete hence the colour difference but cba shovelling a, literal, tonne of gravel when off nightshift)

Finished sowing neeps last night in time for 15c start today at 6.00am followed by a maximum of 22c this afternoon so if  they have enough  moisture they should be through by next Monday .  Sorting out cattle today a very warm job  and put them to fresh fields.

Warmest day of the year so far at a very enjoyable 22.5c.

Wind generally light with mainly cloudy conditions - when the sun appeared it was very hazy.

More of the same for the next few months would be appreciated.

I see the Met Office have removed the prospect of a thundery breakdown.  NE Scotland is not the place to live if you are thunderholic.

Got up to 21.2C here yesterday. That's our fourth day of 20C+ (can you guess what arbitrary observations I'll be counting and boring folk with this summer?! ).

First grass cut in the evening on notch three. Rain this morning.
