Remember this well, it was cold, frosty and there was freezing fog. 25 years ago.

From the start of November 1994 up to more or less this point, it had been largely exceptionally mild but this brought a more seasonable spell of weather for the time of the year especially for England and Wales.

It didn't last though and it was more or less over for everywhere by Christmas Eve.

I remember observing Mars, which was brilliant at the time, in the frosty clear early morning air.

Have vague recollections of this, more so the fog. Shows how cold spells can occur in the midst of endless periods of south westerlies, pity it went back to wet and mild for christmas.

There was also a potent northerly blast New Years Day which gave snow showers here and a hard frost, that spell to quickly ended. Indeed winter 94/95 was often mild and very wet but with a handful of short sharp wintry shots, 24/25 Jan being another one. The snowiest spell of the season as a whole arrived early March.
