Dunstable got a good snow cover but melted in the afternoon. Hills around the area did ok. I drove to the highest point in the Chiltrens to have my snow fix. Some photos from Wendover Wood this mornin

Nice bit of snow here this morning, so that means it won’t go down as one of the worst winters I can remember but only by the skin of its teeth . Photos below ?

Shower cloud lit up nicely by the low sun earlier this evening north of Heathrow where I work.

Big intermittent drops of rain accompanied by near constant rumbling thunder here in Welwyn  😃

This is the Welwyn storm, as seen from South Berkshire.

Near constant rumbles from this cell to our north. Looking at the radar we are perhaps a little too south and east for an overhead storm. In fact, it seems to be splitting around us.

Yep we're right underneath that now. 🙂

All stopped now, but distant thunder. I suspect here in NW London we will be too far east for any remaining action this afternoon (which tallies with the warning update). Still, if proven right several more days of potential storm activity to come !

I don't think I've heard this much of a constant rumbling of thunder in my life.. Seems somewhere a little south west from here is really getting some (-: so we'll prob miss this one.  But for anyone missing out so far rest assured these come out of nowhere just look at sat24 clouds

Goodluck

Must be in one of the few spots Between the multiple cells, can hear the odd rumble, but not a drop.of.rain  or thunderstorm . Currently 28.2°c @67% humidity inside the house, and 34^c at Northolt/35°c at Heathrow. Phew it's hot 🔥🌡️🔥🌡️🌡️

Dry air trapped has been capping the atmosphere in the SE for the last few days. You can have all the ingredients there, but if you can't take the lid off, it can't go bang!

Indeed. Some of the most severe storms I've ever seen have come from much lower temperatures, like in the low-mid twenties, but with a lower trigger point.

Exactly the same.

a 2nd cell seems to have formed behind the first and now just moving over us. You wait months for a storm to arrive and then 2 come along in a row. Hopefully everyone else who are currently missing out will get their fair share today as well.
