It was a lovely today once this morning’s cloud cleared away. Was out in the garden around sunset and it was lovely, cool and so calm. Reckon we could get an 80mph gust locally tomorrow.

I see the  latest shipping forecast  is storm force 11 in Thames  Dover soon should make thing interesting to say the least

This forecast from Estofex is worth looking at. That seems quite noteworthy for our region.

Not quite yet, but in a few hours perhaps, much stronger than I had hoped to hear. For now it's only a breeze with a couple of moderate gusts occasionally.

Not very often a level 2 is issued for this part of the world, esp in winter

Just joking but I do love this song.

Winds picking up a little here now... and your post (great song) inspires me to post this.

Wow that's quite something!

"Isolated extremely severe wind gusts" with lightning and tornadoes. Yikes.

Where have you been I was worried!

Well, tomorrow promises to be a fascinating day ECM and ARPEGE with 70-80mph gusts across our region, however not all models agree so will be interesting to see.

Estofex also cover us in level 2 in winter!! Warning of extremely strong convective gusts, and threat of weak tornado it is happening.

I think they're hinting at the possibility of a Sting Jet. We'll see. They're hard to forecast and no indication of one yet but if it does happen, expect a red Met Office warning pretty damn quick.

Winds have picked up suddenly here in N London, like flicking an on switch. Starting to howl around the local towers!

The main event is a long way off still.

Winds are steadily increasing now, and the moonlight is almost totally obscured by cloud...

Just joking but I do love this song.

Interestingly one of our local 'characters' was walking down the shopping precinct today singing this..... possibly he is a prophet after all!

Getting really gusty already, had to shut the window which I hate but the cat was getting spooked at the noise.

So where in our region do we think will get the highest gust? I’d go for Lydd Airport perhaps, or Langdon Bay.
