Partial lunar eclipse at moonrise: 16th July 2019

There will be a partial lunar eclipse at moonrise on the evening of 16th July. The maximum of the partial phase is around 10.32pm and the altitude of the moon at maximum partiality depends on where you are located in the UK

For instance from London the moon will be about 8.7° above the horizon 

Manchester about 6.3°

Edinburgh about 4.1°

Belfast about 4.1°

Lerwick about 1.4°

The partial phase ends around midnight and the penumbral phase around 1.17am

Couldn't make it up here for the first hour as when the Moon was rising it was clear skies all around except for one persistent band of cloud right where I didn't need it to the SouthEast. Pretty much called on any and every deity out there to cut me some slack and it must have been heard as just 5 minutes after maximum totality the skies cleared and I managed to see the last 1hr 25min of the Eclipse uninterrupted. Ending with the ISS passing just over Jupiter before 'last contact' of the Earth's shadow on the Moon.
