Woke to light rain here then had some hefty showers pass through, 8mm so far today, sun currently out and blowing a gale, quite warm in the sun if you can get out the wind. Takes my rain total up to 87mm since the dry spell broke.

Drizzle in the air, as predicted yesterday, no dry day! In fact quite a few areas of  drizzle on the radar across the SW.

As usual just on the wrong side of the sun/could divide, stuck at 17c currently otherwise would have likely broken the run of sub 20c maxes.....

Have had some lengthy sunny spells so far today and feeling warm at just shy of 20C. Better than expected, but still time for the drizzle curse to rear its head.

Hmm, local rag has posted this today, hmmm

THUNDERSTORMS could be on the cards again this week, the Met Office has warned, as the unsettled weather continues.

A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The warning comes into force at 6pm on Tuesday and will remain in place until 9pm on Wednesday.

It covers Bournemouth, Poole and the rest of the county.

“Torrential rain, hail and lightning” could be seen in some places which would bring with it potential travel disruption and flooding.

Power cuts and lightning strikes could also occur.

The Chief Forecaster said: “Through Tuesday evening there is potential for thunderstorms to break out, initially across parts of southern England, before developing more widely overnight and then clearing through Wednesday morning. The thunderstorms may merge into areas of more prolonged and widespread rain for a time on Tuesday night and at first on Wednesday. “

The spokesperson said between 15 and 30mm of rain could be widespread with as much as 50mm in some locations.

They added: “After a drier interlude, further thunderstorms may develop in a few places during Wednesday afternoon, mainly south-eastern parts of England. Whilst rain and flooding is likely to be the largest impact, hail, lightning and gusty winds will be additional hazards.”

Overcast here all day so far, still a stiff SW breeze, temp showing as 18°C, but certainly doesn't feel like it.  On the coast this morning...well, I've been warmer there in winter than at half nine this morning, four days short of the solstice.

Is this going to be true this year?

Stayed around 12°C most of the night, getting down to a low of 10.9°C @ 04:30.. This afternoon, warm with sunny spells here, although when the breeze picks up it can feel a little cool at times. Nonetheless I reached 20.0°C earlier, first time since June 3rd.

Currently 18.4°C
