This is blatantly going to be the year without summer. Spring/Summer has been dreadful so far - no storms, no heat (bar the odd day) and endless cool and grey skies.

Oh well, hopefully we have a warm/humid winter.

Is it unpleasant when in work clothes or in uniform, which I do understand but otherwise it’s so easy to cool down with a cold shower and a fan, or air conditioning if affordable. Which many people on here should install in their homes. Parts of the UK have had a single warm day and the depressing whining goes on repeat, like a broken record.

They need to tough it out. That’s what I say. The likes of Cheeky Monkey, who clearly tells people such as myself, that we don’t work hard enough if we feel cold when daytime temps are between 10-15c, with wind and cloudy conditions.

Now we are entering the time of year where 24c-30c will be occurring more frequently, it’s our turn to enjoy the warmth.

If you find 25c too hot, take a cool shower, drink more water and like Staines has just said, buy air con.

Lol I hope we don’t. Have a feeling the next winter will bring a return of colder conditions, as some of us were unlucky back in January and early February(me included) and missed the snow.

The late February mild sunny spell probably wasn’t a good omen for the summer.

We have a/c in 2 rooms and it makes summer very bearable - actually turned in for the first time yesterday - it’s pretty common round here nearly all the new houses are built with it , will surely get more popular year by year here in UK,

Part of the problem is, lots of people still won’t buy a fan or air con, because the warm weather doesn’t always last long enough to justify having it.

This is part of the problem with certain folk.

We have a small fan by the way.

The ridiculous level of moaning and whining on here when there is just one day of warmth beggars belief. Like you say,  get air con or at least a cooling unit in one room (the bedroom, preferably judging by the lack of sleep comments). Doesn’t have to cost the earth. It’s a bit sad when people face the same issues every year but won’t do anything about them.

The issue I see, unfortunately, is there are a couple of members who simply enjoy getting a rise out of people. They're not actually THAT bothered by a warm day here and there, they just revel in the misery of others and log on with unbridled excitement before posting something purposely inflammatory and climaxing. I can guarantee they all have twitter accounts for the sole-purpose of going on the windup and I also I bet they're really fun at parties.

Very sad. I doubt they get invited to parties!

Looks fairly cool and showery for the next 5-6 days. Hopefully not too much cloud. With the day length so long at the moment, it’d be a shame to get the endless grey grot you get for most of the year.

Last summer was a front loaded summer, after the beginning of August the weather went down hill. September was terrible. Maybe this year it will be the opposite..

That's all down to where you live. Sunshine was average here, as was the temp. Rainfall was below average, and what did fall, most of it was on two separate days. That constituted as a normal/good September.

Yeah I agree.

The ones who drink in beer gardens with a t shirt on in 10c.

Its good to rub it in when the temperatures are hovering above 25c. I know that’s a little childish from my side though.

They are probably in the kitchen at parties. That’s where Jona Lewie hangs out. Not funny? Oh ok, nobody got the Jona Lewie reference

I do it simply because they do haha.

I'm going to be unbearable in the Winter moans thread. Celebrating every single day above 8 degrees like I've just won the Champions League. They'll see how fast it gets old.

It won't because if anyone keeps doing this they'll quickly find themselves not being able to post.

That goes for this thread too. Enough arguing about preferences and weather 'guilt-tripping'. It stops now.

The occasional letting off steam after weeks of weather that one finds unpleasant is perfectly acceptable in this thread. Note the word ‘occasional’!

Very well, thank you! Weather has been pretty dire in May, though. Much warmer and sunnier over the last few days, 29° today. Lovely

Current outlook is poor and I can understand the sense of dispondency from some posters - me included.. its accentuated I feel compared to the general background warmth we have endured over the last 12 months - indeed there hasn't been much in the way of cool wet weather relative to normal lasting any sufficient length of time.. Recent summers have also been very decent, the turning point being July 2013. Were this June 2013 I feel the degree of negativity would be far less, as we had become accustomed significantly colder than average weather and also very wet lengthy conditions in summers past most notably 2012.

Hoping for a change in fortunes - if this was late June I would be much more pessimistic of overall summer prospects, alas it is the 3 June.

Not holding out much hope. I'm away on holiday next week. I'm the preson who got the one bad week between the beginning of May and the end of July in June last year!

I think the weather has actually been quite nice over the past 3 weeks - May started off cool but it improved quickly. Nothing groundbreaking but very usable with several days in May over 20C, not much rain and reasonable amounts of sunshine. The weather’s been so agreeable that I have hardly noticed it!

The outlook is indeed poor though, but no point getting despondent when summer has literally just begun. Plenty of good summers start off poorly.
