Just rain here but the precip is very light. Hopefully the more moderate stuff approaching just to the NNE will be whiter

It started off as light rain here, big flakes falling now.

Had a more moderate burst for a short time which provided a few big flakes. Now it's lighter but quite wintry in nature (not quite full snow). Nice to see on Christmas Eve

Sleet here now pity the showers didn't keep their strength

A bonus today to be honest  I only gave Sheffield a 10% chance of seeing snow today based on the slim chance coastal showers would survive their trip inland. I'm pleased that I have at least seen a snowflake, even if it is a trivial amount really.

Another blob of precip heading down just east of Leeds right now. Eyes on that one

Staying near Micklefield (outskirts of Leeds) for Christmas, seen some sleety showers in the past couple of hours, mainly rain when they have been light, some flakes coming down when they have got heavier.  I wasn't particularly expecting the showers to make it this far inland!  My parents used to live near Thirsk and the Thirsk webcam indicates that there was briefly lying snow there, though it then turned sleetier.

We moved to be closer to family, bigger house and luckily were on a 100m hill. Good shelter for cold temps here too. Next week looks great

Well no more showers today to far inland so a frost to look forward too. Possible air frost but that will depend on the wind dropping a bit more. GFS not showing much in the way of anything wintry for us bar frost once the milder hiccup this weekend is out of the way.

Not too sure about that think we will do ok for some snowfall next week. Think all the troughs will be hard to pin down right until the last minute. But I would be amazed if Yorkshire doesn’t see some settling snow next week in fact I’d be amazed.

Showers scudding through at the moment - I've just come back from doing the rounds with presents and it's largely rain with sleet in the heavier bursts here in Louth, but there was a brief snow shower up in the Wolds.

Still a lot of uncertainty for exact ppn. After Saturday's storm we might have a clearer picture for next week. 1st January is way too far for these ppn charts to verify.

White and crunchy over the North York Moors, I assume some flakes fell after midnight in any case it snowed on and off most of yesterday and is about -1 this morning.
