Met Office  temp forecasts for Thursday has been trending upwards. Latest one is now saying 31C for Manchester.

More fuel for storms hopefully as another round due overnight on Thursday night.

Manchester Airport TAF is a belter for storm fans this evening.

Meto updated text for overnight is a bit under whelming just mentioning the risk of storms

The Metoffice are not overly concerned about rainfall, that's why. Also these storms are progged to be fast moving.

Nothing of what's showing on the radar is teaching the ground here.

Just come back from Scotland today.. it was 23C u in Glasgow, but by the time I got back home it was 30C (max 30.6) with fairly high humidity.

Not sure about storms here tonight.. like has been said it's nowcasting situation. Initial showers going east of here.. that may or may not dictate what happens later but I remain reserved about our chances here, mainly due to the hinderance that the Welsh topography lends in these situations.

still 27C though which is rather mental. Could have minimum of 20-21C tonight

certainly in comparison to what was forecast. Of course the problem is when we look at the forecast maps they showed heavy showers, which may or may not have the potential for lightning strikes. Paul on UKWW seem to suggest that the rain showers forecast on models were probably overdone.. and at this point he's pretty much spot on.. but he did also mention the possibility of 'dry' storms... with no much rain associated with them. At this point I have to say it'll definitely hit and miss with more of the region missing the storms than being hit. It's just a case of who the lucky ones are... I suspect it'll be east of Warrington

Hello weather watchers.  I’m new to the thread, been interested in the weather for a few years and have been regularly watching this thread for about the last two years but somehow never got round to signing up! Currently posting this from a very warm living room (24.5°C).

Been a very hot and sunny day here, max 29°, barely a cloud in the sky. Had a lovely sunset behind Pendle hill as well. It’s still 25° outside here, at 10 pm. Crazy, can’t remember the last time that happened here.

Looking forward to some “possible” thunderstorms tonight, of course as everyone is saying they never seem to happen much these days!
