Cloud Help?!

Recommended Posts

Newbie to weather observing here!

I observed these amazing clouds which I believe to be altocumulus (May be wrong!), however a section appears to have a hole burnt into it with a different type of cloud inside it (second pic). Does anyone know why this and what causes it?

Thanks in advance!35D60344-4329-4370-9472-08C422C32E93.thumb.jpeg.65916af39f487e3160e8b298164a01bd.jpeg

I have only seen a 'hole-punch' cloud once here, or two? lol They look great though.
