South West and Central Southern England Regional Weather Discussion 01/12/2018 Onwards

Recommended Posts

The wind yesterday stayed till around 8pm, when it dropped to 10-15mph
For us they had the wind strength and gusts a lot higher in the forecasts. We had plenty of them but they were all 18-12mph wind with constant gusts of t30-35mph yesterday.
Only had 3mm of rain yesterday with most of that from some showers between 8pm and 11pm.

Blue sunny skies this morning, 1005.6 hPa, 5-10mph Westerly wind,
A low of 5c at 6am, now 7.9c

Glad that wind has gone, it was constant for a long time, but luckily not too strong here. Looking like a very dry spell on the cards for the next week or so.

Final total of 8.9mm from yesterday's system, already drying up in the still strong wind.  Low of 3.3°C overnight, currently 8.9°C but feeling cooler in the wind and out of the sun.

Still dry today with a good deal of sunny spells, albeit a cold breeze, however there's a few showers inching this way looking to the west... it reached 10.1°C earlier, it's currently 8.0°C RH 54%

How have we gone from this to this to this in just over an hour!? They maybe in the wrong order but you get the idea. Is there a stationary front developing in situ?

It’s supposedly been raining here for over an hour but not a drop so far.

Although the week ahead looks dry and settled, it’s looking quite cloudy. Would be nice to see at least one sunny day from dawn to dusk just like last month. But to be fair once it stays dry that’s the main thing

That would be unlike today then when the heaviest of the rain fell while I was outside. :wallbash:

On the flip side, at least the mobile weather of the last few weeks has also allowed for sunny intervals. I think we’ve had enough cloudy high pressure during the winter haha.

Thankfully we’re now at the time of year when a clearance after 16.00 means several hours of sunshine. Very pleasant now after an overcast day until half an hour ago.
