This place really is funny sometimes 😂 never change netweather snow meltdowns.

It will start moving more NE soon, it was always supposed to do this...

Not sure what all the panic is about.

The radar clearly shows the band making northwards progress.

Now that comes from a man who is not only a weather buff but also realistic when it comes to Britain's winters and he lives in France!...I will firmly take that as positive coming from Nick!...I'll hold you to account if it's all grass and tarmac tomorrow though 🙂 I doth my cap in your general direction.

Yes, a few children in here! Or budding soap actors 😂

Cloudy near Heathrow, getting very close to freezing and the E wind is definitely feeling effing freezing!

Showers starting to break out in the north sea around north side of the Thames estuary. If these continue to build they will feed in land north of London when the pivot starts ..can’t post image for some reason 🤷🏻‍♂️

nothing coming out of the blob on radar over me in clacton on sea,so maybe a fake echo,i know in the past the windfarms of the essex coast has mucked up the radar

It’s a double edged sword .

If the band just rushed north then the drama would be the snow turning to rain but it would arrive more quickly .

You have to have the band moving east and north if you’re in southern and se areas. This event by its nature won’t please everyone . Unfortunately very few events do in the UK.

Light snow here under that band, probably going to stay light for a while yet though. Next stuff that comes rotating in from Sussex/Surrey should totally break the dam.

So much activity on here tonight, imagine what it would be like if we had any snow!

I am somewhat positive about our regions chances tonight, reckon there's going to be some major surprises come the morning.... but then again I am the Ying to Froze were the Days Yang, so who knows?

Looks to me like its all on a path to hit Kent and London. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a little streamer once the easterly has kicked in for a few hours.

typical people always wanting more inches than they have lol

In terms of what you see with a deep cold easterly in terms of convection . There’s not that level of cold and the cloud cover associated with the front will subdue that , but the estuary could provide some extra energy to the occlusion itself .

Reports of snow in Sevenoaks/Maidstone on Twitter so the lighter stuff ahead of the main band is now reaching the ground. Isn't social media great?

I've got a proper chilli bubbling, plenty of wine chilled and a decent torch for when my lamp post turns off.  I'm just looking forward to seeing how it all pans out...... it's so exciting!!!!!

The first few tentative flakes of snow now falling here in St Leonards on Sea.( East Sussex ) I'm just 2 miles from the seafront so the fact it hasn't started as rain is a plus for this area.
