Latest from Dan - And bear in mind he is getting far more info than what we see and it is fresh off the bat not like the recorded Met and BBC efforts from hours ago

This Map looks on the money to me

Yeah Paul that looks about right to me for places north of the Thames, looks like the main action is decent south of that region, and even that area looks slightly iffy if some of the 12z suite were correct.

Just got to hope that some of the more aggressive models are correct...quite honestly anything could happen with it.

In the far west of our region(north-east Hampshire) we've just had a graupel or hail shower. Enough for a very light covering or is it just a dusting?

So basically we are lucky if London sees a covering.

A mess.

Yh sorry Darren that's only for East Anglia would be good to see a Map for areas South and West of the Thames agree

For a moment I thought you were talking about Thursday/Fridays event!

We should have snow accumulation if it actually snows! Everything is trending south - we need that trend to stop!!

Currently in Fulham and long standing cars already have frost on them. Car says 3c, which is definitely a lie.

Going to be bitter tonight, even in London, and any fog could make for a very wintery scene in the morning. Will be back in SE12 in an hour or so, but have to go into central London tomorrow. Will be radar watching all day for the potential return commute hell!

south of the m4

not much for north of m4

radar watching me thinks

Unfortunately a lot of the models are saying that. No point in dressing it up, the models re getting pretty poor for those north of the M4/Thames.

As you say it is time for radar watching anyway soon, but the 12z suite were very much a mixed bag and there is as up potential, as there for a total bust for everyone.

He gave a dig at me about my degree when I asked him about the event that he mentioned.

Why not have a crack at a forecast? You are a meteorologist so why not draw a snow forecast map? That’s a genuine request - might be a better use of your time than bickering with other members!

Anybody know about this supposed event for Saturday, that Paul negated to provide clarification on? Is it going to affect Northern East Anglia, or is it just affecting Essex?

Thought you were a student in meteorology

The funniest model I've seen was ICON's 06z run, where the front literally jumped over a part of Surrey as the back end faded away and sheared off to the east and the front end strengthened once past that area...

Meaning there was a literal hole with 0cms due to the way the front responds. Unlikely, but not totally impossible.

Living in Bedfordshire I’d love heavy Snow here come tomorrow night but models say otherwise despite TV forecasts

As things stand - Surrey & Berkshire look best place in our region (south of M4)

London northwards is a case of nowcast.

It is what it is... nothing to do with imby

Ah well your going to be 3 miles away from the heavy snow, you know how that M4 line is, totally unpassable for weather systems! ;)

Well the official weather stations at Heathrow and City Airport are 2 & 3.c so Fulham is probably around 3.c as well. We should hopefully get down to -2.c tonight

I'm not particularly optimistic that we'll see a covering in central tbh, my concern is the band is going to be light and patchy by time it gets here and light snow never settles in this part of London. Hopefully we see a heavier burst of snow to begin with and anything after that should find it easer to lay.
