Big snowflakes here in low land East London now! Was raining so the ground is wet. Now replaced with wet snow

Surprised at how far those showers from the Cheshire gap have made it inland...

Actual flakes of proper snow! A bit of a mix, but they're definitely there 🙂

Not expecting much, but a couple of minutes of proper snow would be nice

Yes, this band ppn is on the way out soon. Euro & Hirlam models are forecasting more snow approx 21:00 tonight in the SE including London ❄️

Thanks Yamkin 🙂  I'm having difficulty seeing where the next lot is coming from - I can see the showers coming SE from Cheshire, but these don't seem to fit the 9pm ish timeframe.

It's been snowing on and off for the last hour but not much has settled. There's a slushy deposit on the grass and other surfaces.

This is Sanderstead which is just up the road from me.

Nothing of note here in Thurrock. Ground soaking wet from earlier sleet. Keep looking at the lamp post, but that’s not working either 😬

Nothing set on pavements or roads at the moment but nice on cars and grass. Still snowing with a lot of smaller flakes

  • Warm run-up to Easter but a destabilising low means sunshine and showers at the weekend

High pressure is keeping our weather settled at the moment, and in the main it'll stay that way until the end of the week. But with low pressure helping to destabilise the atmosphere this weekend, the sunshine will be joined by some heavy showers. Read the full update here
