Best tell the Met to issue an amber warning

When I advised the MetO to raise their warning to amber for parts of the SE yesterday, this was due to the ppn pivoting, hence look at what has happened in Hampshire and neighbouring counties with disruptive snow amounts.

Western front is decating quite a lot now, looks like the energy is going up on the eastern area of precipitation. Good luck guys over there, not going to be going too quickly so if you do have snow (probably at height) then you should do well with those returns.

Probably just enough light snow left to push the totals to 2 inches. Very decent return after last night. Now to start to watch to see if the thermometer drops through 0c. To be fair, its already at 0.3c so won't take much of a clearance tomorrow morning to get there.

ps, western band is still pulsing SE, but each pulse is getting less impressive. Next one going up near Cranleigh area, but probably only light- low end moderate snow from it.

Well done mate. Worth hanging on in there!

lol jumped straight over here

Hopefully a new band will shoot up, they have been going up fairly consistently in a broad SE motion every 20-30 minutes or so. I admit probably the chances of anything more than a dusting is gone, but I think you'll get something out of the sky...I really do know how it feels!

Heavy rain here in Hastings/St Leonards on Sea for the last  2 hours is now finally turning to snow but I suspect zero chance of settling.

Have had "stealth sleet" for about the last 2hrs. To the casual observer it looks like it's raining but a thin veneer of slush is forming on the cars...

@Mark wheelerIn answer to your question, heavy sleety rainy stuff here at the moment, not pleasant!

Yep, apparently I've been under pink ppn and have a double snow symbol on Meto app for about 2hrs now but nothing other than very heavy sleet!!! Temp currently 0.7c so has dropped a bit but not changed. North Surrey has missed out big time this time around. I'm going to attempt Boxhill again tomorrow morning in the hope of something more up there x

Still absolutely dumping in the Surrey Hills. The A25 between Dorking and Guildford is treacherous.... Looking at the radar it seems to have completed staked over the top of us..... Lots still to come!!!!????

If they do conditions will be diabolical in the morning, a mix of ice and slush at best.

Just a quick heads up to those of you in East Kent. As the Low pulls away to the S.E., there is a small window when the flow turns into the NNE. You could well start to see some showers running across East Kent. I made a post earlier regarding a "Wash Streamer" and Norfolk/Peterborough, not having any elevation.

Well, as we know, in East Kent you do!! Certainly worth keeping an eye on the radar later on, in this area.

Who knows, those of you in Alexis/Lottie land, could get a nice surprise and one last hurrah from this system, as it pulls away. You certainly would deserve it, after having to witness all the action  much further West.

Regards,

Tom. :hi:
