Good Afternoon. The upper level alto stratus is spilling in now with occasional convective clouds traveling NW ahead of the front.

This is the beginning of an undercut of colder continental air.

Temp 39oF  Dewpoint 21oF @ 2pm

Well even a first day meteorology student would know that winds coming off a warm ocean = warmer temperatures and winds coming across cold land = colder..

Unless there's an onshore breeze in summer....that can be so annoying - but that's day 2 in meteorology class

I agree around the radar

looking great - I checked it against the 3pm Euro 4 & it was certainly better & maybe a bit more forward in terms of motion !

UKMO is now updating every hour (Is this UKV here?) upto 6hrs out on its estimated radar:

https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/map/gcpvj0v07#?map=Rainfall&fcTime=1548907200&zoom=7&lon=-2.88&lat=50.98

2pm update shows the pivot happening. Getting into the south of our area around 7pm, reaches my area at 8pm. Holding up well upto 8pm and looks similar to the Euro4 still.

Although a dusting looks likely for here, going to be fascinating watching this roll in today, who knows these things often throw up the odd curveball.

Wait till the end of the course and you realise it's easier to look out the window, and far more certain.

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
