Finally snowing here near Croydon, probably too little to late to settle as it’s too wet

Well it all stopped here for a time (Ashtead nr Epsom) and now back with gorgeous falling fat flakes again! Perfect timing into the evening too!!

big flakes here, settling on cars

looking at google maps with traffic, its pretty horrific out there, NW london and Chilterns especially

Euro & Hirlam models are forecasting snow in the SE including London for approx 21:00 hrs. This must be courtesy of the ppn formation around the Cheshire Gap which is heading in the direction of London ❄️❄️

Yeah, the EURIO4 did show an area of snowfall in that sort of region, so that was a good call from that model.

Seems to be large flakes of something suspiciously like snow now in Hastings, mixed in with the cold rain!

I missed that by about 10 miles! Ah well.

GFS seems to be more keen on some good settling snows for East Anglia tonight, seems like this has one has over-performed compared to what the models were expecting even yesterday.
