Just started to 'wet' snow in Formby Merseyside currently 3.6 degrees, temps seems to have dropped from this morning at 6 degrees.

 Very heavy sleet now. Temp falling. Someone inland is going to get battered off this.

It was very heavy before instant covering but stopped and now all gone! Next band is beavier and longer so hopefully when trough passes winds veer and it gets colder so it stays longer

I used to live in allerton Liverpool..  I used to love these cold north westerlies that brought a mixture of hail sleet and snow. I remember Christmas Day 2004 ( I think) started as hail showers but then turned to snow, settled and everyone went out to enjoy it with no cars on the road!

The best one i've ever heard of for Liverpool was 17th/18th Dec 2010, us in the pennines only got 3 inches but further West on the coast got 6-12 inches from that event.

I’ll never forget jan 2010! First day back in work after xmas and coukdnt get pran feom house to bus stop. Our first born had just been born in may. Was about half a foot then
