Don’t think you can get snow depth charts from the MetO ?

Unfortunately you can't, indeed!

Today wasn’t actually supposed to deliver anything other than rain for those without altitude. So for those that saw some falling snow, especially close to sea level, consider it a bonus!

it turned to rain here in the end before it fizzled, but there was some properly heavy snow at times. It was fun to watch 🙂

For sure! I just hope Manchester airport won't be shut on the 31st Jan! 😆

By the way, the weather in Gran Can is looking quite mixed at times.

I like the look of the outlook, looks quite snowy for a lot of the UK at different timescales. I think our whole region should see some lying snow over the next few weeks 👍

Break in the snow....mainly light some moderate...across the valley and up to Chunal & snake pass look like more of a covering...  Buxton looks sweet spot with precipitation intensity

Is Buxton possibly the snowiest town in Britain? i cant think of many towns of that size that get as much snow as Buxton does

Beast from the east was something I have never even seen before in my life. Local street drifts was in excess of 1 foot or more atleast. Thats not even including Denshaw!

When I lived in the North East two towns called Tow Law and Consett in Durham seemed to have the same sort of knack for always having snow when everywhere else got rain as Buxton does over here. Both also 250m+ asl.
