Heavy ice pellets  and snow just started. Instantly sticking. Totally dry frozen precipitation. This is the stuff.

No exaggeration to say that it's an ice rink here. The last shower put a slushy covering down and it has frozen over. It's lethal. Good luck me walking home tonight.

Lookslike showers building and maybe merging going by radar?

Looks that way too but just not sure if they are heading into our direction East of Manchester - unless someone could correct me

According to the MetO site winds are now WSW. Later veering westerly. If that’s the case that lot in the Irish Sea is heading this way

It’ll be the energy injected by the trough that’ll be making them look like they’re moving W to E but they’ll just be growing in size and strength. Can’t see new trough being as effective as this morning, it’s colder now = less energy to tap into

But less marginality to counter that.

The amount of members online tonight you would think the whole country would be 8ft deep in snow by tomorrow lol

Noticed now that the users on bottom of page dosen't change for different threads viewed? for a time thought there was 300+ viewers on Midlands thread,

it's now 'who's online', used to be 'users viewing this topic'

Remember surface wins and  steering winds are two different things and can be from completely different directions.

It's showing the entire forum's viewers on every thread

Anyway first "proper snow" of the winter. Nothing marginal about this, main road out front covered deep enough to see tyre tracks in it. Radar looks to have more behind as well.
