Hope i'm wrong.

Needed another trough really.

Unless you live in the south of the region signs of the wind becoming

More NW now as showers becoming more frequent.

I have to admit I don't like Easterlies, showers don't reach here.

However I do like the bone dry nature of them unlike this marginal stuff.

Seems to need to be heavy to be snow today, with anything light come out in a wintry mix. Might get a bit less marginal as we head into this evening but it seems like we won't have enough shower activity.

Snow has stopped and pretty much a covering on all surfaces here but it's that slushy snow not the wonderful powdery stuff from last year's beast.

Shower activity also seems to be picking up in the Irish sea again, so we might not have as long a wait as we though for the next set of showers.

Also regards the conversation yesterday about Preston being awful for snow. It seems to have just missed out in this first shower band as well. Bamber Bridge is a few miles south and a few miles inland of Preston;  @Snow free zone

Preston

Bamber Bridge

Meanwhile here in Blackburn turning to light snow now, rather than sleet here.  Edit: Make that heavy snow.

So far today I've seen rain, hail, sleet, snow, thunder and the sun! Nutty UK weather!

Not sure about that.

Just looks like the back end of the trough.

Only one of them I haven’t had is the thunder which I hope to rectify the next few hours. 500MB temps rise from now on though, lapse rates become less steep so lightning less likely.

A heavy shower of ice pellets and sleet currently in progress although the Sun is still out. The Sun can do one.
