Radar precip type calculations are all automated guesswork.

Hey bud.

In work so no access to telly etc. Looking at the charts it looked more like north Cheshire and MCR that were going to be hit. Is Crewe etc in the firing line? Only asking as it doesn't look like it on the raw charts.

Most data shows a large Cheshire Streamer incorporating Manchester too.

Cheers buddy.  I hope that is the case. The charts I have seen look more WNW which would miss Crewe etc as not NW enough.

I fear that after the will it wont it snow of today those of us further north in the region may also miss out on the fun overnight as well.  Those ppn charts and the latest met office forecast do not bode well for those further north.

Getting lighter, all rain and temp rising again. Think this is the end of the front now.

Turning increasingly to snow in Cheshire, and its very light, so that's a good sign.

Same here, definitely lighter snowflakes instead of large snowflakes and light rain.

Hello mate.. I'd suggest this is the best guess at the moment:-

Note the GFS op has (rather than the para) has consistently had the risk further SW.

aww.

Could all end up being wrong with just a few fleeting showers near the Wirral!

Does look promising for now.
