A few spots of rain here but nothing else.Think that’s it done for here now as nothing showing to the south on the radar.I’m not convinced we’ll see much rain tomorrow either.

Well we got something today. I can confirm it's still hot and muggy here.

Lol look at the pitiful rain moving into Leicestershire and compare it to the rest of the country , the drought continues here I suppose

Some light (but not just spotting) rain this evening, enough for the long-awaited petrichor smell! Tomorrow looks mixed but useable, but Sunday definitely a day to be indoors. Shame, as Bewdley Regatta is this weekend. Feel a bit sorry for them -- months of hot, dry weather and then when it's their big day the weather turns!

Lovely and cool last night. It has rained but I was getting some needed sleep. Sunny cloud now.

Oregon Scientific clock says 19.5 degrees C. Bliss.

Two spots of rain here about 02:00.

(I had to get up to close some windows).

Missed the eclipse due to clouds..

So I have now recorded 2.3mms of rain in the last month. (so far)

Temperatures back down to 18.5C this morning with sunny intervals and a strong breeze.

We need a good drenching for the garden now.

Incredibly blustery here. Lots of dark clouds shooting by, but none of them are producing anything bar the odd spot or two. We had a tiny amount of rain overnight, but not enough to make any difference. At least tomorrow looks like finally delivering.

Currently 17.1°C, which is down approximately 10°C compared to the same time yesterday!

Possible, possible heavy shower to the WSW of us, some lightning has been witnessed on lightening maps, so it may be worth keeping a good eye on.

We're starting to see some quite decent squally showers here now. It'd be nice if we could squeeze in a few bonus mm today before the main liquid feast arrives tomorrow.

Every single drop is vital, because next week looks like turning increasingly warm & dry once again.

Fizz..

Can confirm that it was raining in Knowle at just before midnight.

It was dry in Solihull!

Today's showers have also missed us  and the paths have not even 'wetted' yet.

I really need the rain tomorrow for the garden...BUT I have a golf match!!

Sitting in my conservatory, with my patio heater on to keep warm, listening to the rain bucket down.

Blimey, it all went a bit Biblical for a little while - howling wind coupled with torrential rain.

Just heard an almighty cracking noise in the back garden, and one of the main branches of our beautiful silver birch tree has snapped and is hanging precariously :(

Rain on and off today, now very heavy rain's moved in with thunder and lightning! Wind was very strong earlier, nearly had 2 pots with runner beans upended, had to prop them up against the fence!

Been warm but obviously cooler than of late, and extremely windy here. About 4pm the rain started. Real, proper rain. The air feels so fresh but the winds are still lively and every so often the rain gets harder again.

I am so pleased. For the gardens, for the wildlife and for us.

I think there was just a weird distant thunder rumble.

I never moan about rain, it's only water. And everything on the planet needs it!

All very disappointing so far.  Earlier today we had heavy/torrential rain forecast for Penn in Wolverhampton - where did that go then    We've had a few showers overnight and occasionally through the day but really nothing of any note so the gardens are still bone dry - what little rain we've had has really done very little.  That pesky orangey thing in the sky is showing itself again now  So hope tomorrow delivers some meaningful rain.  It has been very windy.  I have taken the hanging baskets down for the time being and have had to tie the runner beans 4 ways to keep them stable and prevent them from blowing over completely.
