Another bright flash towards Clowne/Worksop direction...distant rumble

Nothing here apart from a 30 second spurt of rain but the smell is ace

Have to say I think it’s a bit early, main trough is only currently over the West Country, won’t see initiation until this swings through in CS England in a couple hours or so. Wouldn’t be surprised to see cells fires around the IOW then lift NE from about 1am.

Yes,I suspect the flash I saw was the SW corner of that cell.

Yeah just watched it light up a few times.

Definite cell popped up between aldershot and Woking. Could be the start of something. Elevated development can initiate extremely quickly.

Firing off up north pretty lively - nice line evident.

Pathetic attempt here. Weak Thundery shower producing 0.2mm of rain so still on for one of the driest Julys on record.

So still storm free here just two thundery showers this year and weak ones at that.

Tomorrow is a dead duck as well. GFS and local forecast both say  a dry hot day.

I'm flying to Budapest shortly. Got a feeling I'm in for a bumpy ride.

Pretty bad turbulence on the way up but the rest of the flight went swimmingly.

Now it's lashing it down in Budapest with occasional lightning.

Latest arpege and hirlam models going for what looks like a MCS tomorrow evening up East Anglia into Lincs.

Sky here is full of AcCas and still a staggering 27.8c at RAF Wittering! Definitely a ripe environment out there!

Being on the East Sussex coastline, should I give in and call it a night, or wait a bit longer?

Dan (convective weather) has the red risk box along with the severe over Lincolnshire and the Humber/East Yorkshire tomorrow. I am getting me some of that

CV says Friday night for the high risk area I believe.   I'm tempted to bomb it east along the m62 after work but it would take until 10.30 to get to hull.  I shall watch the radar methinks and hope it's not too late
