Following on my old radar images thread, here a selection of screenshots from weather events from 1993 that were reported during BBC Weather broadcasts...25 years ago

10th January: Braer storm

11th January: Scottish blizzards

16th January: Severe Scottish gales

22nd January 1993: More severe Scottish gales

28th February: End of season snowfalls

16th March: Early spring warmth

29th April: west coast warmth

14th May: cold Scottish day in May

9th June: thunderstoms

10th July: dramatic mid summer temperature drop

23rd August: chilly late summer's day

13th September: Yorkshire washout

Mid October: early start to winter season

22nd November: severe frosts in the SW

24th November: Mild in far SW, very cold in far NE

8th December: severe gales

20th December: last time there was a white Christmas

25th December: A white Christmas

Despite looking around the net I cant seem to find a resource which can tell you what the weather was like on a specific day in Britain over the last few decades..im an an amateur writer trying my hand at fiction set in the recent past so I would to research stuff to give scenes set on a precise day a bit of authenticity. Can anyone help. Cheers all.
