Apparently north of the M25 is the best for storm development (Like always), keeping an eye on the stuff South West of London.

Thunder heard in Pitsea. distant rumble

It'll be interesting to see if this gains strength and gathers more over Essex.

Ssshhhit...

Thunder and lightning in Gravesham, thought I got lucky and it wasn't going to happen.

It's light atm and I hope it remains than way.

You not a fan of storms Scully? Or just not at this time of night?

So the stuff west of London refuses to go up. Probably bed time for me.

What now? Where exactly is this main event???

As per the MetOffice Warnings between Afternoon and Evening, for my location I'm keeping an open mind though, just want some rain really.

Had a few cracks and flashes now in pitsea, some heavy rain and what I think was a bit of hail, dying down now

Rain, hope for all the rain you can dream of. Hell, bring a metre of snow I don't care but, keep your shitty thunder and lightning away from me, preferably no closer than 60 miles I think will be ok.

I think the Met Office may have got this one wrong. Their website now has me down for 31° max, when yesterday they had me down for 37°

Timing of any precipitation will be the big difference. It keeps flirting with rain from 3pm to 6pm back to 3pm and so on. ..

Some cracking cloud structures around this morning with a few flashes coming out of some of them. Alas it has been completely dry here and the temperature is around 21C here at the moment.

I'm right on the fringe of a big cell moving up across Essex. Had some massive very close strikes but rain just to the east of me. Had a brief bit of heavy rain.

Little more than distant rumbles since earlier posting, no lightning seen, but lots of virga to my NE, seems to be slowly trundling away in that direction. I can see a tower  to my SE. Temp is 27C, humidity at 58%. Very oppressive despite the rain overnight.
