Found the cheese and crackers. Caught up on the posts. Nice poem indeed Jethro. .. So we approach your Amber warning time frame in a little while. I was hoping that thing would expand Northwards. Radar looks exciting. Here goes then.

Haha, I still think Bristol will see a decent amount by morning.

Got no bloody street lights nearby working properly so I'm having to shine the torch on my phone to see the snow.

Street lights go out here in an hour's time. Light snow still falling here but it is v fine stuff. Covering on most surfaces but hasnt really cracked on from a couple of hours ago.

Road starting to get covered some dusty spots now. About 2cm elsewhere.

Had quite a bit of steady snow all evening and everything looks well covered now.

Looks like the small low or whatever you want to call it is forming between the IoW and Brighton so hopefully that will push inland up to maybe the M4 before beginning its journey West which is pretty much where the Hirlam placed it.

Interesting that the Meto still doesn't seem to be interested in the Sunday evening snow the Hirlam has been showing for a few runs now.

That more organised band of heavier ppn just approaching Oxford definitely looks to be shifting west/north west as it's getting pushed from the south within the developing pivot, may provide something a little heavier for some within the hour :)

Any snow yet with you? I'm waiting for the heavier stuff to cause disruption lol.

Been snowing light stuff all day but very little to show for it. I hope we'll see a few cms starting any time now.

This may well be my last post in this thread at this rate, it's about depth of lying snow by Monday morning:

My predictions (for this region):

Oxford 5cm

Swindon 6cm

Bristol 4cm

Taunton 7cm

Exeter 12cm

Penzance 9cm

Enjoying this snow event more than the last one. Lack of wind means the snow is settling nice and even. Great days!

I notice the Arpege also has that band of snow coming across Sunday evening as well. Will be very interesting to see if the short range models are correct

No! No! No! 6-7 inches level lying snow the other week of the powder variety; drifts of 15 inches or so.

I agree too, couple of cms out there now and it's so peaceful watching it fall. Lovely big flakes too! Hoping we get a good covering tonight ?

So West Cornwall looking likely to get a bit more than a dusting tomorrow, most bizarre seeing as we are one week away from BST.

Agreed. ppn feeding into the South coast looks to be pepping up also. Definite pivot on the band to our East.

I think we are about to join the party. Nice converging dollop on forecast radar.

The cotswolds are doing a grand job of stopping that heavier PPN getting past!

That's their job, you know. The ancients settled where they settled as it provided shelter!

I'm ignoring the automated forecasts, they change too much. They didn't even have any snow for me for the past couple of hours or so but we have around 1cm settled lol.
