Partly cloudy, intermittent light snow and -1C...and the wind has backed due North and fallen to 3mph...Troughing in the North Sea, anyone?:yahoo:

Hopefully we all see more in the way of showers this evening and overnight. The showers seem to be building in the north sea now, and as the winds veer round more overnight some should get further inland.

There look to be some showers pushing through Suffolk now heading in my general direction. No idea if they will hold together long enough but if they do should hopefully give at least a dusting.

Is it just me or are those showers in the estuary moving SW towards Kent and not us?

Let's hope so and it gives more of our region a good covering tonight. Looking at my local forecast things should get going in the early hours and continue most of the morning. Need a bit of luck though I think.

Fingers crossed they don't fizzle out, but at least anything that falls now we don't have to worry about the sun :cold-emoji:

The roads are completely treacherous out there, black ice has formed readily in Central London, so anyone travelling, please be careful!

We had a heavy snow shower at about 1:30 but 5 mins later there was blue sky. No accumulations on my short drive home from North Bucks to North Beds.

Is Thursdays/Fridays event looking like a non starter for our area ? Most models seem to keep the precipitation over the southwest and into Ireland.

Don’t hold your breathe for this location. We should have had some heavy showers but nada. Further south and east will do much better. Thursday we are dry. Winds in the wrong direction.  And friday is a hit and miss

You may catch it as it moves north on Thursday. Coming up from the channel

There are still some doubts and I think it will be more Friday into Saturday for here. Also much lighter snow than further west. But you never know still a long way off. But those in the know in the model thread seem to think the cold air will be gone for us by Sunday.

The front on Thursday dies a death but could still deliver a dusting in the south of the region. Friday sees a more active front move north during Friday afternoon, this could begin to slow somewhat over our part so the chance of a decent covering which will only thaw slowly over the weekend.

So, it’s been an on-off snow day today here in North Norfolk. I’d say about 3 inches all told and I see it starting to fall again.....

Very cold (when the wind blows which isn’t often) but mainly dry for this neck of the woods and now the potential snow Thursday/Friday seems to be downgraded for this area so tbh looking like a non event in terms of snow here but i cant complain because had a fair bit early December and glad that finally our more south eastern areas have seen some decent snow! So for now I’m looking for warmer spring weather before we do all this again next year :yahoo:

Well I think it’s safe to say those showers over the estuary are definitely on their way to Kent.

Winds are due to swing ESE in the early hours so hopefully we see some showers move inland then before the feed gets cut off due to the shorter sea track.
