To those complaining that this snow is quite light and patchy, I’m pretty sure the heavier snow wasn’t forecast until tonight/tomorrow anyway.

I'd also add that it can be light and patchy but still add up the depths if it falls for long enough, if the system stalls/slows

I can’t see the snow being massively heavy today. Is there a downgrade generally?

I’ve not known short-term forecasts to be so sketchy and widely uncertain as they have been this week - not complaining but I have literally no idea what to expect in the next 24 hours

Echo that, I've given up trying to attempt to give an answer to my kids or family now. I just say "I have no idea, we might get some, we might not"

Ramsgate still snowing

Horley doing its usual thing. Dandruff.

A little heavier in Reigate now - settling readily but don’t think it will amount to much...

hope those in the West Country stay safe!

5/10 snowfall here, looks lovely!

Front does already seem to be clearing the South coast, though

The reports from Scotland are amazing. So much snow! And sensible behaviour too, very few people travelling, unlike down here.

Ashford TN23 Snow 1/10

Had booked first camping trip of 2018 for 14th March.... that is currently looking rather ambitious!  Sure the warm up has to come soon

Snow now being going for about an hour and half now, certainly giving a good covering here in Merstham. Certainly a working from home day indeed. Just trying to understand my way round the radar to see how long this is in for...

Can’t wait for camping season. Think March 14th might still be a tad chilly lol

@seb what do you expect for us today ?

I have no idea haha. I think this situation is pretty unprecedented. Never see so much disagreement on models.

Sadly, I can't see anything noteworthy for most of our region today.

The light snow this morning will continue to dissipate and die out.  The more noteworthy band coming this afternoon/evening is likely to skirt through the western parts of the region (if we are lucky).  Direct hit for the SW by the looks of it.

Seems to be backfilling over the channel of you look at the last two radar grabs.

Very very fine snow now! Hoping for a bit more later, it all seems a bit 'up in the air' though!!

All the forecasts are very different! (I realise most of these apps etc aren't much use, but how can they all be so different!!!) 😯

Light dusting in Sandwich, at this point anything is a bonus.  Just looks so pretty floating about in the wind. When I was a kid I used to watch the snow for so long that I could see it when I closed my eyes! Love the stuff, magical.

Hello - when  you say back edge through around 09:30, will that be our lot today in North West Kent? I'm completely at a loss currently on what is planned :)

Here's a few pictures from  yesterday on Sheppey second day of sledging possibly another day today as the schools are shut again for the 3rd day in a row and it's currently snowing again now this is turning out to be quite a good cold spell may it long continue.

Current radar, no idea which direction anything is moving anymore, I need to seriously do some studying from the basics and upwards.

I think that patch which is delivering snow across east Kent is moving North, so likely to lose the snow we have in Ramsgate? Unless it somehow stalls over us
