going by the radar it looks like the capital will be facing widespread disruption tomorrow. Quite a development

Yes, looks like a direct hit this alright....could be famous last words here BUT anyway, its settling very quickly on roads, pavements and on top of my inch or so that came down yesterday.:)

Serious snow for 2 plus hours now in Gillingham. You can see a mark now on the roads it’s as if nothing moved yesterday. All car tracks etc totally filled back in. It’s slowing off a little now but we must have 10cm

I wonder if anything else is going to pick up behind this main band. The radar is teasing something.

Is the wind not due to switch SSE or SE soon? If so would imagine any streamer would be brief...I would love to be wrong! I'm bordering on excited!

The MetOffice need to update/upgrade their warnings. London isn't going to get off lightly with this clump.

Cold waves hitting Europe continue to threaten growers, is there a link to climate change?

Much of Europe, not just the UK, has experienced unseasonably cold weather since the Easter Weekend. A plunge of cold arctic air brought by northerly winds early last week brought several nights of frost and even snow across large swathes of Europe, followed by another wave of cold arctic air spreads across much of Europe this week. The frosts causing damage to new growth in vineyards and orchardsa0spurred on by a late March heatwave, the vineyards of France werea0particularly badly affected.
