I understand thanks.

Actually it seems to have got a move on now. Snowing steadily but not heavily 10 miles inland from the Worthing area coast. NB! There can be less rain or snow at sea level, which is a reason why the south coast is one of the driest parts of the UK. Altitude helps to get heavier precipitation.

Yes it’s blizzard here as well (Brighton Kemptown) but air is warmer than two days ago so they are melting :(

Snowing in Epsom but very similar to last night where it blows sideways and doesn't really accumulate - we had hours of snow last night that didn't give half the amount "straight down" snow would, lol! But not complaining, glad to have had at least something out of this rollercoaster beast!x

I was driving this morning and saw a little snow whirlwind that span snow probably 6-10ft into the air in a circulation. Very interesting to see!

In other news, it's snowing in Lee, very finely and being blown around, by a very gusty wind.

Regards,

Tom.

These wind gusts down here in SE Essex are the strongest of this Cold Spell, can only begin to imagine how strong they are in the South West

Some very interesting things going on above our heads as well.

The warm sector raced across the region earlier between 5-7pm with temps rising from -2c to +1c in area and the dewpoint dropping back to -4c

Now it has fallen to -1c here and the dewpoint has dropped again to -7c

Just looking at the system on NW radar it looks like the whole system is decaying and the yellows and oranges are shrinking .Maybe the snow totals will not be as big as first thought?.Hope it reinvigorates over night as those poor souls in the SW have had more of a snow drought than us and that is saying something !!

Excellent news. Looking at that radar if it does move inland some parts will get a pasting. Hopefully it will be Crawley:)

In all fairness if it wasn't for the system today introducing slightly milder air maxes probably would have been down at -3/4/5C, not that far off 87 levels, and probably biggest difference temp wise is just that we are now in MARCH!
