Just a quick one for more knowledgable but with the winds eventually veering SE will they pick up moisture from Channel tomorrow and deposit snow into East Kent(i appreciate it is only about 15miles wide) but just thought i would ask.

Thanks in advance

No - The sea fetch isn't long enough to really generate convection

Anyone got a good radar for France? Was thinking that it’d be good to watch the precip moving up!

I’m wanting a good day of snow. It’ll kill me work wise (I manage a very small team) and we are super busy as it is. 5 of my 10 wouldn’t be able to get in if it was bad and then with me unable to get in too (3.3 mile walk down from the hills to the town centre) the work would pile up very quickly...

But! my 11 year old would love a snow day! His little face on Monday as we drove to town,  watching some of the village kids already out with sledges as one of the two primary schools were closed was so sad!

So, we only live once and all that! Bring on the snow :cold::drinks:

Really interesting as that is very similar to something I just noted, the steering currents are more ENE than the models were expecting at this time, suggesting the low maybe evolving slightly differently than planned at this stage.

Pray HIRLAM is right, 17cms here!

perhaps  its not going west now and going more north

snow Getting heavy now here - patient all day but moderate 7/10 snow setting in - near blizzard conditions

How do you think it’ll be tomorrow Steve? Unsure on whether to drive into work or not. Was a bit hairy this morning

It seems crawley is the only place with snow, it's just going around us.

Is their anything scientific reason for this?

Genuinley interested lol.

Light snow in Reigate, lively wind from fractionally north of east. -4.2c, dewpoint -7c.  I think that collectively amounts to 'bracing'.

Looks like slightly heavier snow to the east could give us another dusting shortly.

Met Office: "Uhh guys, remember when we cancelled the warning for the South-East? Lets maybe put it back"

It's more of a South-East streamer rather than a Thames one, pity it's all light and not heavy snow showers!

If this continues like it currently is with various streamers setting up, it will go down as one of the biggest weather suprises I've know off been snowing now for over an hour

Good to hear that it's still snowing 'upstream' from me. Still chucking it down here and by the sounds of it, could continue for a while yet. Totally unexpected and brilliant. They need to move the red warning down here.
