Brighton close by could well be in the firing line here !!

yes @Steve Murr, 3 hour radar says that it will hit Brighton around 23:00. But it should be faster than that I think.

The 3 hour radar here looks promising for SE London / N Kent (who are currently missing out on the Mid-Kent bonanza!)

I wouldn't say North Kent currently missing out as here on sheppey we have had another inch in the last hour and hopefully more to come lol.

I should have said NW Kent (although I know Tonbridge etc are currently under a shower). Maybe it's just my little locale that's mssing out then!

It’s all dying off on the approach to dorking.

TBh it’s probably all going to die off before it reaches us - there’s definately no chance of us getting more than a gentle flurry here over the course of the night - and I can say that with no fear of getting egg on my face tomorrow!

I will be utterly devastated if we get nothing at all from this week. It’s the first chance of decent snow for years, and quite possibly the last chance for years to come too.

We really do live in a terrible part of the world for any remotely extreme weather ?

Just want a straightforward and decent snow shower!!! ???

We may not have snow, but we have pathways that resemble the Curling lanes in the Winter Olympics. Take that.

(Can someone in Kent do a little snow dance and send it on its merry way towards Surrey? We don’t want much, honest. . . ?)

We got hammered here in both 2009 and 2010. An ENE is perfect for us and still has a 60 mile sea track.

Friday is largely pointless given it will be puddles by Saturday.

The wind is due to move more E’ly tomorrow, won’t that bring in more showers for London? I have barely a cm of snow here, would like to see more, even if it is on Friday.

The pressure and temp is still due to drop considerably( thus increasing convection) plus a change of wind direction, all to play for, those not seeing much right now!

The drop in surface temps will not encourage convection our only hope is the convergence line

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
