When you look to the front of my house it keeps having small little flurries, when you look to the back nothing. :clapping::80: starting to think someone is outside with their own snow machine trying to wind me up. It’s been like this all morning on and off. Extremely cloudy all around now.

Light to moderate snow showers since I got up at 7am, giving a  dusting over everything including unsalted roads. But after grey skies, patches of blue sky and sunshine appearing in SE 25, but plenty more showers upwind to come!

Turned out better then I thought this morning and worse yet to come tonight and through Tuesday - as we see a proper convergence zone develop through the Thames Estuary

At least the snow's not drip drip melting when the sun comes out

Sunny, -0.7C & absolutely no chance of snow at the moment.

Will hopefully get at least a dusting over night.

Hope I've posted on the right forum!! They've changed names!!

That looks like the "WeatherPro" app

It is. For some reason my post was blocked so PM'd instead.

The forecast is useless but radar is pretty good as it combines all European radars. It does have a big gap in the North Sea though so it cuts off behind the showers you can currently see - you need to switch to Sat images to see how packed the North Sea is. Snow shower galore!!

Moderate snow falling here now.....finally!

Thought you’d see some, it’s been hammering it down here for nearly an hour and moving your way. Grass going white :)

Do you think a Thames streamer is possible tonight

would it affect the same places as 2009 or take a different track

thanks

That fax chart shows the convergence line in a more east to west orientation than it previously did, so more likely the convergence will funnel showers up the Thames into Greater London do you think Nick?

Very poor location for me (Horley/Gatwick) under such a set-up. ENE flow just doesn't cut it, being just too far south and just too far west. Need a NE'ly here. Hoping for that frontal opportunity to deliver later in the week. Can clearly see the shower train running just north of me, hence photos from family and friends in Sutton and Croydon posting heavy snow with some accumulations (in-laws in elevated S.Croydon already past 2cms this morning). So, I suspect unless the flow changes, if you have snow now, you'll probably keep it all day. Enjoy!

This is what I mean. This shower train (first pic) has been in place since 7am. Second photo is looking south. You can clearly see that I’m on the boundary of that convergence zone. So, if you have little or no snow in West Sussex, that’ll be why!

Edit: can’t ipload photos so you’ll just have to take my word for it! Looks very good to my north and north east from here - sanderstead, Croydon, Bromley way, I’d imagine.

Proper snow, this time, none of that wet, slushy crap that we normally get. Nice to see!

yes, looking at 00z EC, between 00z and 06z looks best for us in south London and points south,

ecmwf_snow_6_london_6.thumb.png.b15d1993352c3c345cb67131867683fe.png

but thereafter we may see the streamer shift south through the morning and into afternoon as per fax for 12z Tues

What a diffrence in half an hour temp now up one degree to just on 0c and bright Sunshine. Bar 1021.

High wind chill factor. All the clouds now sitting offshore.

Good Health.

So far Nick it's looking a lot more snowy out there then the high resolution models expected. The only one that seems to be close was the nnm which did correctly spot the line of snow coming through the Southeast this morning.
