Sarcasm aside .... your telling me

they don’t use computing systems?

Us whom haven’t got to grips with the charts rely on our apps ... or the tv ... or come on here .. wouldn’t it have been better to explain to us ? Rather than just spout off that they are rubbish ?

I did explain and I posted a video that a "pro" made explaining why the apps are rubbish.

The TV forecasts are not computer generated, they are a blend of various computer outputs with added human input and experience, that's not the same thing as a forecast based on a single model of a single run.

Another beautiful day here, third day of uninterrupted sunshine and warmth. Still chilly in the shade though  :cold:

This might sound a bit far fetched and I could well be wrong but I wonder whether the forecasters have to be very careful how they present and word the forecast as not to induce panic in the general public.  As I say only a thought...

I said the other day back, but the BBC/Countryfile forecasts are terrible compared to a few years ago.

They're never so bullish about anything anymore. And those news graphics the BBC are using are simply horrible imo.

we all know that even up to date forecasts can be wrong. look at 2010 forecast for the SE not much snow was forecast  i don't tend to rely 100% on models or apps.    i tend to use my eyes. if its winter i have a jacket on or in my car so to me m not overly worried if we catch random showers here or there, this is the uk and the weather is unpredctable

Countryfile forecast only went out to Friday, as it always does.  No-one, not even the rather excitable snowmaggedon brigade on the MAD thread, was saying snow mayhem until later next weekend and into the following week.  I'd stick to the Met Office website updates, you know - the text ones written by a person rather than an app - and that will give you the best idea of what might happen.

Deep breaths all round :)
