Are you a horse?

Sleety look at the 12z also ecm you will see the short wave.s this will push back the cold air and delay it.  We have already had it pushed back and these short waves will push it back again. It was for this reason that the cold air needed to already be in place because the more it’s pushed back the more that can go wrong  ( shortwave in wrong place ).  So we need a miracle  to get the easterly to our door and deliver the goods rather then Europe basking in the glory like they do nearly your every year.

Wish I could be optimistic but I have seen it go the way of the pear many times and  always because of a bloody pesky shortwave.

There would be no marginality all snow to sea level so I have no idea what you’re seeing.

I'm having trouble choosing which I hate most - the smell of wet dog or, marginality:bad:

What I hate is seeing Europe with huge amounts of snow and us with a few flakes in the wind near the coasts.  The pesky short waves are going to send it all into Europe or for it to be pushed back

To be fair, she has - quite a lot! ?

I know, but there isn't much I can do about it -  mother nature will have the final say... @Sweetdream.. Honestly I do understand where you're coming from.. we've been here before when you think you're in for a decent easterly only for a pesky shortwave to pop up and spoil the party:closedeyes:

Yes this has been the form horse in recent years of course. But once in a while, not often mind, things can go in our favour, at least this time we have a few factors that should help our cause. Firstly this double whammy of a SSW that looks like it might actually give us further upgrades for a change and not downgrades. Second the Sun spot cycle is heading for a 200 year grand minimum according to the Layman's count that I follow, this could have all sorts of unexpected implications for us in the next few winters too.

So fingers crossed that it is our turn, we deserve it, lets face it we have waited long enough.

Things look potentially great for us, what we could have hasn’t been seen since before internet era. Very exciting. Weather It’s colder than forecast here 2.3C the app gave me a low of 4C similarly the models. They are poor on temperature perhaps one day they will get better at it.

Just to add that some models are bringing the cold in slightly earlier, it would be ironic if you had problems Steve at the airport when you arrive back next Saturday because of SNOW on the runway!

I know I shouldn't laugh....:D

Morning all.

Clear, bright and full of birdsong this morning in Deal.

I have to say, I work outside on an eastern facing seafront in a yard behind a chippy. I'm really looking forward to some slightly more interesting weather! Don't get me wrong, the last couple days of springlike warmth have been great, but when you see the snow squalls scudding across the channel ?

Anyhow, that's yet to be determined. Remember if we do take the beasterly plunge, to check in with elderly relatives, check on pets and garden wildlife.

I guess if this colder period somehow doesn't materialize - I'm already on to hunting those first big Tstorms of spring! Haha.

Hat, gloves, thermals on standby... I'm also quite glad that the next premises has just installed a heating floo which exits just by my workstation. Cheeky handwarmer/heated seat if needed.

Maybe they're getting live updates from the CFS?:D

for some reason, this news does not surprise me.
