Interesting twitter conversation between Derek Brockway, Chris Fawkes and Ian Fergusson regarding the end of the week's weather. Talk of blizzard, extremely serious, alarming....

This event if it comes off could rival the snowstorms of  New Years Eve 1978, and January 1982

Interesting reading the Met Office update now saying a north south split after the weekend. Goodness knows what counts as north and south though

We were always going to have to be more patient here though, wait til the weekend then if it's valid re-post it. Easterlies can and do deliver.

Correct. Ive seen Easterlies back in the 70's and 80's deliver to the region and deliver good. People need not to take the Meto updates as gospel

First warning issued for Thursday...current SW England and South Wales. Heavy snow and gales. Small chance of snow turning to freezing rain.

Let's hope that keeps tracking slowly north and hits us on Friday, I would quite happily take a dry week if we are hit by a blizzard on Friday.

Going to be awful seeing 2 ft of snow in Cornwall on the news whilst we have nothing here.

Lot of the region just been removed from Wednesday’s snow warning now. Seems a bit premature of the Met Office in such  instability myself. Normally they over warn!

They really do hate us
