only something Lancashire could ever dream of but wIll very rarely get,

Living in western Lancashire you need to pray for whatever the synoptics were in December 2009/January 2010 and December 2010. I lived just outside Preston at the time and got conditions very similar to what I have experienced today here with constant showers of dry cold snow. I lived down that way for just over 10 years though and those were the only occasions that I saw decent snow.

Another flurry of snow passing through here again with the more powdery-stuff beginning to make visibility difficult once more as it has done all day. Clear blue skies only 15 minutes ago.

I started to walk my dogs up the werneth low and then all of a sudden more snow hit with a biting wind. The windchill wasnt very pleasant. So being a wimp I turned back.

i hope those of you who haven't had much snow yet manage to get some.

Exact same down here too :nonono:

Irish Sea, Welsh Hills (although they are to the west), flat as a pancake and then the Pennines.

A real cruel place to live if you like snow.

Yes it is... its not great here but its a hundred times better than anywhere near the north west coast.

Up to now about 4 inches has fallen here, with some drifts up to half a meter. Some lovely views up at Dove Stones, hopefully more showers to come later.

Perhaps 2cm max here in south lakes as expected. Dry powder snow. Occasional flurries today but nothing significant. Might get a further dusting over the weekend but nothing significant. It appears the rest of the region has fared much better than Cumbria once again but hey ho. Standard.
