plenty of time for more toy throwing and dummy spitting

I can't keep up. Just shows no one has a clue I doubt no one will have a clue even when it' all over. Flipping hilarious though!

Fair play to the Metoffice they have been calling it for sometime now even though the models didn’t show it.

lets see how this pans out

Well the Met Office have been unusually bullish about cold coming so they must have more confidence in it than most on here.

I was reading a report from the Met Office this morning which said quote.

UK weather latest. Britain braces for arctic temperatures as sudden stratospheric warming ushers in big freeze.   The phenomenon which causes the stratosphere to heat up very quickly greatly increase the risk of wintry weather the Met Office said and could usher in arctic temperatures from Tuesday onward.

But they are still waiting to see how the atmosphere will respond as in previous years it has led to a disruption of the jet stream.

Could be the reason why the models cant get to grips on what the hell is happening up there lol.

I can't see anything on the forecasts that offers anything other than what we've been having the last couple of weeks. Maybe a bit drier but same temps, if not slightly milder by night. And probably greyer and duller.

You may be right, and please don’t take offence to this.... I truly hope you are wrong.

Fergie being quite positive tonight, seems like it's going to get cold before we get spring. Delphiniums are going to be disappointed, they're happily bursting into life, best wrap them up.

Makes a change to see ECMWF model output actually sitting in largest cluster of options going ahead through next week onwards. Sure looks likely to turn cold from the E later nxt week, but (not least given recent model volatility) we're not quite yet at a point for certainty...

W COUNTRY We continue to keep across potential for colder conditions developing from an E'ly quarter later nxt week & onwards. Much uncertainty remains, albeit latest signals suggest such a set-up could linger on well into 1st half March. I'll keep you posted as clarity improves.

I work for the local highways and our weather provider has warned us that it going to go into a very cold spell towards the end of next week?

Thanks for that. Seems I am going to have to organise moving some enormous pots at work, been waiting and holding off as it involves hiring machinery, extra labour and huge upheaval in the house to fit them in. I wouldn't be popular if I spent all that money and caused so much chaos for nothing but a couple of frosts.

My lad will be over the moon if he gets a white birthday.
